Gary Johnston, DBIA
Gary Johnston has been in the design and construction industry since 1969. He is Director of Construction Services and Marketing for CCM Construction Services, LLC. His past experience includes executive management positions for several major, international construction management firms. Gary’s education includes degrees in civil engineering technology, technology and management, and civil engineering (minor). He is working on several graduate degrees including an MBA and an MS in Project Management. Gary is also a doctorate candidate in Organizational Development and Change. Gary’s construction experience includes green, sustainable, and LEED building programs. He is experienced in all construction delivery methods including design-build, design-bid-build, CM agency, CM at risk, competitive sealed proposals, integrated project delivery, performance based proposals, Job Order Contracting (JOC), Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) and variations of these delivery methods as well as numerous contract types for these methods. Project experience includes PK-12 and higher education; healthcare; justice; prison/jails; homeland security; transportation; General Services Administration (GSA); Department of Defense (DOD); Department of Transportation (DOT); Corp of Engineers; federal, state, county and, municipal governments; high/mid rise; and private industry. Gary is an active member of the Design-Build Institute of America and serves on Southwest Region Board.
In his spare time Gary serves on the City of Plano, Texas, Building Commission. Gary enjoys reading, continuing education, and spending time with his family and nine dogs.
